Ghita cantered through the dense forest gracefully. The trees old as time towered over her as a thick mist rolled in at her knees. She jogged, then walked, taking a look around. What a beautiful, but eerie place... she thought with awe and wonder. With a high-pitched winny she galloped out of the woods and out into an open field. Her nose reached the ground as she began to graze. Her wild eyes looked around as she ate.

The dark hue of the beast was brilliantly illuminated by the sunlight that bathed the land below it. The few white hairs mixed with his blue and black hide making him a mixture of bizarre colours and patterns. He wasn't the most normal horse to look at in this retrospect, coupled with his rather muscled frame yet sill lithe build though it all seemed to fit together nicely. He snorted lightly at the tickling sensation of the emerald blades at his nares, interrupting the slow grazing he was partaking in. The vegetation here was so juicy and fresh unlike the small morsels he could get within his realm and he lavished in these peaceful moments.
His overly active concentration upon his food was broken when the vocals of another broke through the still air. His skull rose bolt straight, ebon ears twitching as they focused upon the sound. It didn't sound panicked or desperate, no, it was a cry of pleasure or at least something along those lines. It seemed many equines were doing that these days, he couldn't really remember doing that after he was eight months old and he only had a hazy recollection of that.
His dark hooves carried him forth at a slow pace, the grass soft underfoot as his eyes landed upon the lighter form not far from him. A soft noise came from his voice, only loud enough to be carried on the slight wind toward the other as he stopped a respectable distance away, close enough to hear soft spoken words though far enough away as to no invade the others space. "G'day. You seem to quite enjoy this land" He stated in observation, obviously rusty in his social skills. The way the sun was hitting him now made his eyes almost seem to glow a strange blue, standing out eerily against his black mask, a he awaited the others reply.

The black stag moved slowly through the forest, letting his senses guide him carefully through the trees. A slow rocking canter was his pace and he felt no need to break out of it. The pounding of his hooves matched the pump of his heart. It was a perfect cadence and the sounds echoed inside his mind. A smile curled his ashen kissers as he ducked a branch. Tendrils of mist were laid like a silver blanket over the ground. Sinistra moved into it easily, watching his hooves thrust the smooth fog into disarray. The total quiet would have been slightly disturbing had it not been for the drumbeats that thundered in his ears. Not a bird called, nor an insect croak. It was strange but Sinistra pricked his harks, knowing better than to ignore the silence. It could mean that a predator was close by. Taking in a deep breath, the black stag widened his paperthins and swished his tassle. Sinistra snorted and wheeled on his pistons.
He could smell a cougar. His muscles bunched and tensed as the stag leapt into a dashing flight, moving over the ground at an incredible speed for a horse of his height and bulk. The long pistons swept him over the ground and sped up the cadence instantly. A strange rythem picked up in his ears as he flew and Sinistra swung into a small hollow, halting to taste the air cautiously. The stench was gone and Sinistra shrugged his muscles, flexing the strained ones. He had put alot of instant, unwarned stress on them and though they were built for that kind of flight, it still burned. Flashing a glance around himself, Sinistra trotted forward, out of the small hollow and realized he wasn't alone. His orbs caught a mare and another stag in front of him. He was standing in front of a grassy field and he could see the mare rolling and the stallion standing not far away. A small grin came over his facade as he watched the female roll in pleasure before he moved out unto the field.
Sinistra didn't mind strutting his stuff and moved like he knew it. Muscles pulled tight under his shimmering black coat and his tassels rippled in the wind. Orbs widened momentarily as he pulled all the light possible into them and brought more sight into the glowing optics. Sinistra thrust himself into a distance covering lope and whinnied, allowing them to note his presence as he strode towards them. His 17 hand bulk gave him an impressive stance and while Sinistra hated to be put down, he liked what he saw in the young female. His orbs noted with curiosity that the stag was a strange mixture of blue and black colors. It gave the other an impressive appearance. He stopped before the both of them and bobbed his great head politely. "Hello. I would be blessed as Sinistra. Who might the two of you be?" His voice was filled with polite curiosity and sounded calmly without being pushy or arrogant.

Her peaceful graze was suddenly interrupted by a stallion approaching. Taken aback she raised her crown and looked with hazel pupils at his appearance. The dark blue colors that mixed with the black gave off a dazzling radiance. He gave her space while she grazed, which she admired. He's definitely had experience before, she thought.
Her flirtatious ways kicked in as she replied to his comment, "Why, it is not only the land that I enjoy but the horses I meet on the way." She flashed a smile. But soon the young mare perked her attentive ears and listened. Hearing another stallion's call only sent her adrenaline running faster and her heart pumping. The stag held an impressive stance with thick muscles and a handsome black coat. "Ghita or Pearl. Whichever you'd like to call me." She stated carefully. She knew she would meet stallions on her journey from home, but two in one day? This land was better than she thought.

The stags harks flickered forth the catch the words of the femme. He could pick up the slight flirtatious tune weaved into her words though it seemed somewhat alien to him. From his own experience he only knew the tunes of longing and depression, sometimes including the fleeting experiences of anger when he needed to ward off a predator or happiness when he stood high upon the Eastern clefts, hot wind within his dark threads as he kept a watchful eye over the lands that he had taken the responsibility to take care of. Her tone was more towards the happy tune with a playful edge to it which made the stag relax slightly, feeling accepted in this social interaction and continued the urge for him to win over some sort of friendship. The corners of his soft mouth turned upwards in a friendly smile as he let a light yet still somewhat rough chuckle fall from his vocals. "Well I do hope that I am one of those equines that add to the enjoyment. I would hate to create a dampen on these lands"
His harks flickered momentarily as he caught a distant sound. He could have easily imagined it or mistaken the rustling of the leaves but he was certain he heard some sort of commotion too loud to be created by any of the smaller creatures that resided upon this land. He let the silence was over them for a moment, hoping he didn't seem rude as his harks scanned the air currents though it seemed whatever phantom noise he had fleetingly caught was not longer in existence. He slowly released a breathe he was unaware that he had been holding as he listened and he was almost certain that his heart had even stopped as he listened until it jumped nervously at the sound of another. His skull turned rather quickly, dark eyes flashing a vibrant blue as he looked at the quickly approaching stag. His muscles tensed under his uniquely patterned coat as his hind legs moved sideways, placing him slightly to the side of the approaching stag and the present mare, one side to each. Was this femme he had yet to learn the name of with this stag? If so was this possibly a dangerous situation for him? It would be just his luck to be caught within a battle he hadn't intended for on one of the few days he traveled outside of his realm.
His eyes were sternly glued to the approaching stag, taking in each of his features and calculating them. None of the stags movements seemed aggressive or possessive, possibly he was just another passerby whom decided to introduce themselves as well. His skull was held high as the other came to a stop before them, not in a stubborn or aggressive manner though a somewhat protective one of himself and possibly even his new associate if this darker stag presented a danger. The fact that he stood a full hand higher then himself didn't seem to intimidate him, instead it furthered him to make sure he wasn't looked down upon. The stags words seemed calm enough though his presence still made the grulla stag slightly uncomfortable. "I am Daku of the Eastern Ridges." His words were slightly whispered, as though his throat refused to release the information though he didn't disown his polite demeanor.

Her eyes wandered from one stallion to the other, taking everything in. Might a battle take place over her or would there be peace? Whichever it was, she now knew their names and that may come in handy later on. Her muscles twitched as a fly landed on her right shoulder. She shook it off.
"Well I do hope that I am one of those equines that add to the enjoyment. I would hate to create a dampen on these lands"
She laughed in her head as she caught what he said. He was flirting back. Without realizing it, she took a step forward towards Daku. Now she chuckled aloud and replied, "The only thing that could possibly create a dampen here is the rain. You should know that." She flicked her tail and pawed at a blooming plant in the ground. Hideous weeds, she thought.
Her eyes flickered over to the stag called Sinistra. She gave him a welcoming nod of the head and then found herself looking at Daku once more. Why should she find interest in him? After all, she was as free as a bird and as wild as a cougar. She believed no stallion should ever claim her heart.

Liquid eyes blinked in thoughtful concentration as Sinistra shifted his weight from one piston to the other. The long appendages held him in a calm, relaxed position. He examined the others with curiosity. The strangely colored grulla stag who, Sinistra noticed, had stepped to the side when he had arrived, seemed slightly uncomfortable which concerned the black stag. He had no intentions whatsoever of causing discomfort for he knew no one in these lands and had no ally or enemy as of today. The ashen pelt shivered and Sinistra lashed his long tassle and rid himself of the irritation. His large head dipped as the ess spoke, introducing herself. Sinistra grinned in an almost coltish way. "I think that the title "Pearl" suits you well." He stated, with another smile in her direction. Indeed, she was a pretty ess.
Sinistra took in the other's title with a bob of his head, sending the long mane into a waving storm of black. "A pleasure, indeed, Daku." He spoke again, letting the lyrics hang in the air. His harks pricked again as he listened to Pearl speak of the rain. "The only thing that could possibly create a dampen here is the rain. You should know that." He blinked startled acknowledgement and then realized he might be interrupting something. Pearl seemed to be paying attention to Daku and Sinistra suddenly worried that he had stepped rudely into something. Perhaps that was the cause of the flirtacious tones and why Daku was uncomfortable. Sinistra blinked slowly, going over the possibility. He had no reason to cause anxiety anyways, so the stallion quickly spoke up. "I have not stepped into anything, have I? You," He nodded at Daku. "Seemed worried when I came here. I am simply here to offer any mare a home, but if you belong to Daku then I am sorry for intruding." He said, flicking his tail as if to prove his point.

I trodded through the woods, picking up my feet, my orbs flashed around in every direction making sure nothing was around. I stopped as something didn't seem right. I smelt the air... Coyote or wolf? I sniffed again... Coyote and a nearby one... Wait something else... Horse? My own kind!? Before I knew it the coyote jumped out from behind some shrubs and trees. My legs searched the ground for footing so I could gallop off. The coyote leapt into the air towards my back... I knew that two seconds later it would be a fight. Finally a foot hold... My muscles were tense and bunched. Churning the ground my legs took me into flight. Behind me the coyote landed hard. Non-moving. I continued on just to be on the safe side. When my lungs and legs couldn't take me any farther I stopped. My head hung heavily and my feet spread wide apart from being worn out. While my breathing slowed down I made sure the smell of Coyote wasn't around. It wasn't but instead the smell of my own kind was very strong. After a couple more minutes of resting I turned my head and there was the horses in a field of grass just outside the forest. My strength was regained and I trotted gracefully out picking up my heels. My tiara held high I knew I was queen of the world.
"Hello. I am Miniona. Am I interrupting you?" I took a quick peak at the horses here. Two stallions and a mare. I wonder what is up with them. When I saw one stallion start getting ready to leave I just had to flirt. "So... What is your name, sir? Oh and why do you leave so soon? Don't you want to meet the newcomer?" I glanced over at him and flicked my tail. "Come closer. I am sure the OTHER stallion doesn't want me." Of course this was just the start to my game. I knew what would come next and I wanted it.

At the words of Sinistra she tossed her head and quickly put on a mask of surprise. "You were not interrupting anything," she replied. Her pupils looked wearily around as if someone or something might suddenly swipe her off her feet without her consent. She certainly felt like she was caught off-balance. Ears were attentive for a moment as nostrils flared at the scent of another. It was not prey, but another horse. A mare... Ghita watched the dun mare wander over and had a gut feeling that she could be up to no good. Her feelings were assured when the mare introduced herself.
The wind played with her mane and tail but she scarcely noticed it. Her vision was focusing on the newcomer. Ghita was always flirty of course and a bit immature sometimes but she never liked to get involved in conflicts as surprising as it may seemed. Thoughts bubbled in her mind as she picked a decision. She walked to a patch of grass and began to graze, but still in hearing distance of the conversation going on. Already she discovered that she would rather go with Daku than Sinistra.

Daku was relaxing slightly as the other beast seemed to have no intent to harm either. He may have only exchanged a few words with Ghita though it was within him to protect any innocent with everything he could muster. His limp didn't affect his fighting in anyway, he could almost completely forget about it if the time called. His dark harks flickered lightly as he listened to the words being exchanged between the two, not particulary minding being forgotten for the time being. He just wanted to ease himself into socailizing with others and the sudden approach of two unnerved him for a moment. He almost missed the other beasts words toward him and it took him a moment to register his words before Ghita spoke in surprise. He lightly shook his head to collect his thoughts before looking back to Sinistra and dipping his head slightly in an aplologetic manner. "I apologize for that, I did not mean to seem rude. This is the first time I've been socail for quite a while and I'm just slightly nervous" He didn't like how Sinistra reffered to Ghita as possibly 'belonging' to Daku. He didn't beleive others could be owned, he was throroughly against slave and master relationships though he decided not to speak his mind in an attempt to keep the peace.
This seemed to be going well enough though Daku had a ban feeling that something was going to go wrong. Maybe he was just overly parranoid or he just memorized the fact that bad luck seemed to favour him. His attention was taken away from the two once again as familar sounds came to him. He was begining to believe that these lands weren't safe, that predators where jumping out from every angle and creating caos. Optics were taken to the newly approaching femme and Daku began to wonder if this land was a grand socail land of if there was some sort of plot the world was putting in place. His harks picked up her words and it took him all his will to keep his facade straight and prevent himself from scowling. A troublemaker. What were her intentions? He ignored her words, deciding that was the best option for him as he turned his skull to watch Ghita curiously as she moved away.

As I moved towards the social group of horses I knew at once that they thought I was a trouble maker or something bad. Inside I just wanted to meet some horses; my own kind... "Don't be afraid my friends. Everyone knows mares aren't supposed to be trouble. I just smelled my own kind so I had to come check it out." My orbs now looked towards Daku. He was so beautiful. Soon my orbs couldn't move away from him. He was just so perfect. Slowly my legs moved me towards him... Wanting him.
I forced myself out of the trance. I wouldn't take him. What about the other stallion. What was he like? This time I looked toward Sinistra. For some reason when I looked at Sinistra I didn't get the same feeling I got with Daku. I knew then that I must somehow get in Daku's herd and be his love. But how?... My orbs longed for him, my legs wanted to go to him but how to get him to love me back. I spoke again aiming at Daku, "What might your name be, good sir? Oh and by the way you look really clean today. Do something with your coat differently?" I hoped to strike a conversation with him, as then he might get to know me and love me. Just maybe.

Her mind took in the other mare's words. "Don't be afraid my friends. Everyone knows mares aren't supposed to be trouble. I just smelled my own kind so I had to come check it out." Ghita watched Miniona gaze at Daku and jealousy grew in her. She gave a toss of her crown and looked back at Sinistra. What was he feeling right now? No one gave him the attention he deserved. He was of different build than the other stag and had a beautiful ebony coat. He seemed sweet, but still... She did not know what he had in mind. Her worst fear was lurching in her stomach. Was he going to claim her as her own so that she did not run free anymore?
The flies were back and more vicious than ever. Ghita shook her gray body in an attempt to rid of the horrid insects. It only added to the tension in her muscles. She began to think once more. She would not go with either of them, if their intentions were to make her theirs forever. Her heart was hers and she would keep it that way. Stubbornness was a permanent trait she carried and she didn't mind. Not a bit. As free as the wind, she repeated in her head over and over. As free as the wind...

Afraid? Daku wasn't afraid. A little paranoid and nervous possibly though he had gotten over being afraid of this social even. It took him a little effort to stop his muscles from twitching under his mixed hide and his pillars moving him backwards as the dun femme moved towards him. Instead he stood his ground and instead flickered his dark harks in her direction to listen to her words. She had that same happy tone with the edge of playfulness to them as Ghita had used while speaking to him. Was she flirting with him? A moment ago she was flirting with the other stallion and now she had jumped over to him. Daku was getting utterly confused by these femmes actions. He felt like a colt thrown into a new and strange situation, he had no idea what he was meant to do.
His dark tassels lightly brushed at his rump in an unsure habit as she continued to speak. He looked clean? He hadn't done anything different to himself than he did any other day. Maybe it was just this land? It wasn't anywhere near as dry or harsh as his realm so it could have possibly shown him in a new light. "My name is Daku" He nodded his head in a polite gesture toward the femme. "Thank you for the compliment though I do not believe I am any different to any other day" He was slowly getting used to conversing with others, it wasn't as hard as he first expected it to be. I watched how Ghita tossed her crown, was that a sign that she was in love with Daku too? I wonder what everyone is thinking right now. I wonder. Then there was Sinistra... What was he? Is he lonely? Not loved? I was trying to figure everyone out. There was so much confusion right now that I figured it would be best to clear everything up. "So you didn't do anything differently? That is very interesting. Oh and Sinistra you shouldn't feel left out as I am sure the perfect horse will come along at the right time. Don't worry." At this point I didn't know what else to say or do. How would I tell Daku that I was in love with him? How do I tell Daku? How oh how? Take him off somewhere? Well I guess that will work. I will have to try because I'll never know otherwise. I took a step nearer to him and ask quietly and gently, "Hey Daku, Can you come with me alone? I really need to tell you something in private." This was my only chance. Now, where do I take him? Into the woods? Nah, not the right atmosphere. The South-eastern shore? Maybe. Quickly I ruled out every other part of the social lands and came down to the South-eastern shore. That is where I would take him.

Sinistra flicked his tail, thoroughly bemused by the conversation. Obviously this new mare had flirted with him and then turned around and laid herself at Daku's hooves and then there was Ghita or Pearl who had been flirting with Daku and was now walking away... He shook his mighty head and decided that this situation was hopeless, or at least in the way he had wanted it to be. He didn't mind socializing with others and he would happily do so, but his original purpose had been to find a mare to join his herd. That, however, seemed like a lost cause as Ghita and the other mare were heading straight for Daku. He felt slightly put out at having all the mares going for another stag, but amusement quickly darted across his facade as he watched Miniona compliment Daku about his coat. Sinistra almost started to chuckle but changed to a snort and pretended to be blowing away a buzzing fly. His amber gaze watched Miniona and Daku for another curious moment before turning to Ghita.
She too was watching Miniona and Daku. Sinistra felt some pity flash inside of him. She had just started to get to know Daku and another mare comes flying in to divert his attention. "Oh and Sinistra you shouldn't feel left out as I am sure the perfect horse will come along at the right time. Don't worry." He blinked and turned to smile at her. "I did hope that now would have been that time but it seems not." He laughed. "I'm sure Daku was blessed today when you and Ghita found him." He gave the compliment willingly and meant it too. He felt a little cheated but forgave the other easily. He hadn't done anything to get all the attention so Sinistra could hardly blame it all on Daku. Shrugging his muscular shoulders, the ashen stag smiled at Ghita. He noticed she seemed a little nervous around him and frowned. "Please, Ghita, am I so menacing to you? I have never touched a mare if she was unwilling and I do not intend to change myself so abruptly now."
